West Hills Vision is proud to be one of the few practices that offer theOptomap Retinal Exam. This unique exam allows our doctors to successfully assess the health of your retina faster and easier with the help of digital imaging.
Comprehensive Vision and Eye Health Testing
A detailed history is collected in order to determine the status of each patient’s general and eye health with special attention to medications for conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure, which directly affect eye health.
Detailed Tests for Eye Diseases and Disorders
A measure of the patient’s eye pressure is collected in order to detect glaucoma. Tests specifically designed to check for tumors, detached retinas, hemorrhages, and cataracts are also administered.
Specialty in Children’s Eye Care
Our doctors start eye examinations before the age of 1. This is necessary to detect amblyopia (loss of vision due to difference in lens power between the eyes). Patchings or visual therapies are sometimes used to help correct a child’s vision. The doctors would like to see the children back at ages 3 and 5 prior to school.
Special Emphasis on Contact Lens Fit and Comfort
Corneal topography is used to aid doctors in finding the best contact for your eyes. Types of contacts include gas permeable contact lenses, soft contact lenses, bifocal soft contact lenses, and silicon 30-day lenses.
Laser Vision Correction Consultation
There are a number of procedures that can reshape your cornea in different ways to refocus light on the retina without the use of a corrective lens.
OCT is a diagnostic tool that provides high-resolution, cross-sectional imaging of ocular tissues in vivo. It is used to measure retinal and macula thickness and to study and monitor diseases.
Humphrey Field Analyzer
The Humphrey will complete a visual field in little as two minutes. It has provided early detection of glaucomatous visual field loss. Patented fixation monitoring features automatically track and align patient head and eye position, alerting operator to patient movement away from the trial lens. All patients’ tests are archived in the analyzing system for continuous monitoring.
